SeniorHelp is a program offered by the Eastern Nebraska Office on Aging that coordinates volunteer resources to provide help to older adults trying to preserve their independence. Persons of all ages volunteer for SeniorHelp, sharing their time, cost-free, with older Nebraskans in ways that support dignity and independence in daily life. Volunteers are screened and matched by trained staff with older individuals needing assistance.

Mission: To provide volunteer assistance to older Nebraskans that will help them remain independent and in their own homes and improve the quality of their lives.

Goal: To recruit and develop a comprehensive network of volunteers willing to donate their time, abilities and goodwill to assist us in carrying out our mission to serve older adults.

  • Home Maintenance
  • Personal/Household Assistance
  • One-time Clean-ups
  • Painting
  • Telephone Reassurance
  • Yard Work
  • Meals on Wheels Delivery

Eligibility: All adult volunteers age 19 and older must complete an application and go through a screening process, including orientation at ENOA offices. Volunteers under age 19 must be accompanied by an adult enrolled in the SeniorHelp Program. Volunteers must also provide/arrange their own transportation.

Counties served: Douglas, Sarpy, Dodge, Washington and Cass.
